Dimitrios shipwreck

The photo shows the shipwreck called Dimitrios (previously named “Klintholm”). It has been standing on the sandy beach of Valtaki close to Gythio, Greece, since December 23, 1981.

This shipwreck is quite small, 67-metre long and it was built in Denmark. There are many different stories about the origin of the ship and how it was shipwrecked on the beach.

The photo was taken in summer, weather conditions were the best as possible. There was clear blue sky without any clouds. We took the picture by hand in the early morning, therefore we have not met any tourists there.
