Zitkova landscape

The picture shows the village Zitkova in the Czech Republic. It was taken in summer.

The photo is very easy - just a green meadow with some trees and the sky just before the storm. But the atmosphere was amazing at this time.

The village Zitkova is situated close to Uherske Hradiste and is famous for its healing plants and healers. There is also a small open-air museum commemorating this tradition.

As the nearest doctor used to be 12 km far away, the people living here used herbs to heal themselves. The local healers were called as Goddesses. The women knew a lot of herbs and they knew what health problems they can help with . There are also several books about that.
