Grand Canyon National Park

The photo shows one of the most magnificent point of the world. It was taken by hand from one side of the Grand Canyon.

The Grand Canyon is situated in Arizona, the USA. You can imagine it as a very big hole to the ground surrounded by steep high rocks. The layers depicted in the rocks were created by the Colorado River and it took more than 5 million years. Here are some numbers for your better idea how huge it is. This miracle is 446 km long with the width up to 29 km and the depth reaches more than a mile - 1.857 meters. If you focus on the right corner of the picture, you can find a small settlement which serves as a camp.
